Lou Dobbs' Commentary

Some interesting thoughts:

Dobbs: Not so smart when it comes to the Middle East

That column is flawed in a lot of ways. Most laughable is the paragraph on economic aid--Dobbs argues that economic aid to that region is some sort of charitable endeavor instead of a means to influence the behavior of the local governments. We send massive amounts of aid to Egypt. Paying cash to Hamas or Hezb'allah would be, to say the least, monumentally counterproductive to our goals of a peaceful region. (Unless we intend to allow them to achieve their stated goal of driving the Jews into the ocean.)

His "sense of proportion" argument is quite odious, when taken to its logical conclusion. Just silly, Man-of-the-World posturing by a talking head who thinks himself a statesman in exile.
